Teacher Training
Whether a 200-hour course, or a continuing education program, we pour our heart and soul into every element of the training, as well as all of our students. We make sure to provide each student with the tools they need and opportunities to gain experience so that everyone walks away feeling confident in their ability to teach.
NOW ENROLLING FOR FALL 2026:
200 HOUR TEACHER TRAINING
Whether you feel called to teach or simply want to deepen your relationship with yoga, this training is an invitation to grow, both personally and collectively, with intention.
Over the course of 14 weeks, we will move, study, reflect, and learn together in a supportive community. You will deepen your practice while building a strong foundation in yogic philosophy, functional anatomy, sequencing and alignment, and meditation. Along the way, you will also explore what it means to show up as yourself, hold space for others, and trust your own voice.
This is more than a training. It is a space to connect, to be both challenged and supported, and to step more fully into yourself, both on and off the mat.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE
We’ve designed this training to be immersive yet sustainable, allowing space for integration, rest, and real life.
We’ll meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings, along with every other weekend, over 14 weeks (with a one-week break for Thanksgiving). This steady rhythm supports both deep learning and meaningful connection without burnout.

You’ll be encouraged to invite friends and loved ones, and you’ll receive thoughtful feedback from your trainers to help you grow with confidence.

This is an in-person training with all of the hours spent together as a training group, either at Firelight Yoga, or at Open Wellness.
Open Wellness is located two blocks west of Firelight at 1901 N Killingsworth St. The facility is newly renovated and will be an ideal location to supplement our training hours at Firelight!
After thoughtful reflection, we’ve chosen to move away from our affiliation with Yoga Alliance. This decision is rooted in our commitment to integrity, depth, and care in how yoga is taught and shared. While Yoga Alliance presents itself as a standard-setting body, we feel it primarily functions as a registry and doesn’t offer the level of oversight or alignment with our values that we believe is essential. More importantly, we believe that the heart of a teacher’s practice can’t be measured by a paid designation.
At Firelight, we’re dedicated to training teachers who are thoughtful, well-supported, and deeply attuned to their students, to the roots of the practice, to the communities they serve, and to the broader cultural and ethical context yoga lives within. We care about creating spaces that are inclusive, trauma-aware, sustainable, and grounded in respect for yoga’s origins.
This choice is about alignment. We want every part of what we offer to reflect the values we practice every day: awareness, responsibility, and care. We understand that this shift may bring questions, and we welcome those conversations. Our training will continue to meet and exceed widely recognized standards, while centering mentorship, relationship, and lived experience. Graduates of our program will be certified through Firelight as Certified Yoga Teachers (CYTs).
