Firelight Yoga is looking for a few amazing humans to join our employee team in the new role of Operations Assistant. The Operations Assistant is responsible for maintaining the studio’s cleanliness and reports directly to the Operations Manager.

CURRENTLY RECRUITING
We are seeking to hire 3 – 5 individuals who are able to commit to working three or more of the following shifts on a regular basis:
- Weekdays:
- 6:50 am – 2:50 pm (8 hours)
- 3:15 pm – 9:30 pm (6.25 hours)
- Weekends:
- 8:20 am – 2:50 pm (6.5 hours)
- 3:15 pm – 9:30 pm (6.25 hours)
The work schedule for these nonexempt positions with regular weekly hours range between 15.75 – 40 per week. The positions will be either part-time or full-time, depending upon each new hire’s availability and which of the above regular shift days/times are assigned to each new hire.

EXPERIENCE
- Must have prior work experience.
- Prior service industry experience and/or prior experience working in a studio environment is a plus, but not required.
IDEAL CANDIDATES
- Have flexibility to pick up additional open shifts in the event of coworker illness or time-off requests.
- An active participant in the classes & culture of Firelight Yoga.
- Have reliable transportation; timely arrival to shifts is imperative to the studio operating smoothly.
- Looking for a long-term employment “home” despite the part-time starting schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS of Studio Associates include, but are not limited to, the following
- Continual tidying and restocking of all locker rooms, ensuring any water spills are wiped up and all is sparkly clean before and after classes.
- Expedient turnover of the yoga rooms at the end of each class, including mopping the floors, spot cleaning the mirrors, and organizing any props as needed so that both yoga rooms are ready for the next classes.
- Keeping up with the starting of, switching of, and folding of studio laundry.
- Sanitizing rental yoga mats after client use.
- Ongoing deep cleaning tasks of locker rooms, floors and props ensuring that each locker room’s toilets, sinks, and showers are deep cleaned at least once daily and entire studio floors are mopped midday and at again at closing.
- Deep cleaning of studio props.
- Assist hot and warm class instructors to pass out cold eucalyptus cloths at the end of all classes in the Fire Room.
- Less frequent deep cleaning tasks and projects as assigned by Operations Manager.
- Additional closing duties, as scheduled for those shifts, of taking out all garbage and recycling, emptying and cleaning the filters on dehumidifiers, filling essential oil air diffusers, restocking retail items as needed, and setting the alarm upon exiting the space at the end of the night.

With 13-18 classes currently offered per day and 300+ client check-ins per day, Firelight Yoga is a fun and fast-paced work environment. We have high expectations for entire studio cleanliness before, during and after all classes. We work together as a team to focus on the big picture, while not losing sight of the small and important details, to ensure that the client experience is enjoyable and welcoming.
STARTING RATE OF PAY
$16.25-$17.55/hour depending on years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced service industry environment and/or in a professional cleaning position, as well as, prior studio work experience if applicable.
